The "Transregionale" is a fact-filled newspaper supplement published in conjunction with the second annual conference of the GMO-free Regions Network in Europe, which took place in Berlin on January 14-15, 2006. The meeting brought together 250 people from 35 countries. Experts, activists, local government officials, representatives of farming, commerce, environmental and consumer organisations met for two days of intensive workshops, debate, information exchange and discussion of future plans to keep their regions free of genetically modified crops and food. The major issues discussed, as well as portraits of some key actors and stories from various regions are presented in the “Transregionale”, which is available on this website in the original German and an English translation.
