The Department of Environment and Primary Industries plans a trial of 40 genetically modified wheat lines at its Horsham field site. DEPI has applied to the Office of Gene Technology Regulator to run the trial from November to December 2015. An OGTR spokeswoman said there had been 14 previous licence applications for GM wheat trials, of which 11 were still current.
