2003 | GE free Zones in Europe Conference

Examples, experiences, strategies

14th-15th November, 2003
Hotel Springer-Schloessl, Vienna

The objectives of this conference were to support the strategic and practical work of civil society groups to foster those agricultural and food processing practices which do not need GE and to strengthen the groups to resist the continuing pressure to adopt GE in agriculture.

The conference was planned to reach three aims:

  • to bring together civil society groups from European countries involved in the GE-free movement and working on co-existence strategies
  • to learn from those countries with a strong GE-free movement
  • to develop strategic alliances to secure the existance of GE-free agricultural and food production

This conference was organised by GENET with the support of Foundation pour une Terre Humaine (Switzerland).
